At the end of the shadowing program, students will have a first impression insight on the responsibilities and requirements for a career in baking. At Dot’s Pastry Shop, students will be shadowing the owner and staff to observe the daily tasks that go along with the bakery. Jane and Greg Rodriguez will explain the requirements for becoming a baker, the necessary interpersonal skills, and business management. The NextStep program allows a student to experience the work environment and receive hands on knowledge for a career in baking before investing in a continuing education program.

Dot’s Pastry Shop
Dot's first opened its doors in 1947. The shop has been family owned and operated all the way through. If you stop in this summer, our youngest might just be the one to hand you a newspaper out front.
Our baked goods are prepared daily with love by hands holding decades of experience. If you haven't yet had the pleasure, may we suggest a warm sticky bun or one of the cream filled before they sell out?
We have an array of cakes, pies, and other pastries available each and every day, but please feel free to call ahead for special orders or decoration.
